Naughty or Nice (or Psycho)?

Greetings! You've got Kathi here with a slightly demented Christmas card created for Lost Coast Portal to Creativity's Christmas in July Challenge #211 with the Alfred Hitchcock Standing Rubber Stamp by Carmen's Veranda and Mini Gnome Santa with Toys from the Mini Gnomes 2 Rubber Stamp Sheet by Lost Coast Stamps.

Here it is!

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp both the Alfred Hitchcock Standing image and Mini Gnome Santa with Toys from the Mini Gnomes 2 image onto white Copic-friendly cardstock.

Fussy-cut both images, but cut the Santa hat off of the gnome's head. Use Copic markers to color both images, then outline them with a black marker. Add wet glue to the brim and pom-pom on the Santa hat, add Cotton Ball White Fun Flock, gently press the Fun Flock, and allow it to dry. Once it's dry, brush off the excess flock.

Adhere the Santa hat to Alfred's head then set Santa Alfred aside while you create a background panel for him.

Trim a piece of winter-themed patterned paper to 5.25" x 6". Use Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Inks to edge it. 

Cut a piece of white cardstock to 5.25" x 6.75" Add Film Strip Washi Tape to the base of the white cardstock. Adhere the winter-themed patterned paper just above the Washi Tape to create the background panel. Trim the patterned paper/Washi combo to 4 5/8" x 6 5/8". Edge the background panel with Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Inks.

Cut a piece of red textured cardstock to 4.75" x 6.75" and use to mat the background panel.

Use "Naughty or Nice" die to cut red textured cardstock. Use an arrow die to cut red textured  cardstock twice.

Adhere Santa Alfred to the background panel as shown. Adhere the "Naughty or Nice" sentiment die-cut to the upper left. 

Measure the arrow die-cuts. Adhere the "be good for goodness sake" sticker an arrow's width from the left side. Adhere both arrow die-cuts as shown with the arrows' points overlapping the sentiment sticker.

Adhere the background panel to a a taupe-y brown 5" x 7" card.

OOOPSY. Meowch

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Greetings! You've got Kathi here to share a wintry card created for our December Anything Goes Challenge 204 with Carrie's Yoga Cat 10 Rubber Stamp by Lost Coast Designs.

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp Carrie's Yoga Cat 10 twice — once onto a white cardstock panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper.

Use Copic markers to color the cat. Add a Copic marker outline around the cat with B41 and BG11. Use a white gel pen to add highlights to the cat's pupils.

Fussy-cut the sticker paper version  of the cat and place it atop its counterpart on the image panel as a mask. 

Place a piece of acetate horizontally across the image panel so that the top edge of the acetate lies just above his hind legs. Secure with low-tack tape and/or magnets.

Brush blue dye ink over the acetate and the masked cat to start a background. The sky was a bit too light and blue so I brushed Milled Lavender Distress Ink over the blue ink. 

Remove, clean, and dry the acetate panel. Position the panel again so that its bottom edge is sitting on the ink line and the acetate itself is covering the top of the image panel.

Use a sponge dauber to heavily apply Pearlescent Ice Blue Brilliance Ink over the edge of the acetate and the masked cat. Continue to apply the ink until the bottom of the image panel is covered. Use a soft cloth to wipe off the excess ink. 

Use another sponge dauber to apply Moonlight White Brilliance Ink over the the Ice Blue Ink. Remove the acetate and heat set the panel.

Place a snowflake stencil over the image panel and secure with low-tack tape and/or magnets.

Sponge White Hybrid Ink over the stencil onto the image panel. Keeping the stencil in place, sponge White Shimmer Delicata Ink to add some shimmer to the snowflakes.

Remove the stencil and heat set the image panel.

Remove the mask from the cat and use a white Posca Paint Pen to add "snow" to the cat and to add additional dotty snowflakes to the background.

Use alphabet dies to cut grey cardstock to form the the sentiments. Use a speech bubble die to cut silver glitter cardstock.

Adhere the "OOPSY" sentiment to the top left of the image panel. Adhere the word "Meowch" to the speech bubble. Adhere the speech bubble to the image panel.

Use an A6 Frame Die to cut grey cardstock. Adhere the frame over the image panel. Adhere the framed image panel to a grey A6 card. Use Silvery Shimmer Delicata Ink to edge the card. Heat set.

31 Days of Halloween - Day 4: A Misunderstood Gentleman

Greetings!  You've got Kathi here today with a spooky scenic card for the fourth day of Halloween! The card was created with the Clown with Balloon Rubber Stamp by Lost Coast Designs.

Here it is!

Tuxedo Black Memento Ink was used to stamp the Clown with Balloon twice — once onto the bottom of a 6" square image panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper. 

The sticker paper version was fussy-cut and placed atop its counterpart as a mask.

A spider web stencil was placed over the image panel, then the outside part of the Drippy Arch Stencil was placed over it. Yellow, red, grey, and black Distress Inks were sponged over the combined stencils and the mask to create a spider web in a cave scenic background. 

The stencils were removed, then the interior part of the Drippy Arch stencil was placed over the the center part of the image panel to cover the cave interior. Grey Distress Inks were sponged over the stencil. A stipple brush was used to pounce red, orange, and yellow Distress Ink over the newly inked background. Light Grey Distress Oxide Ink was also pounced over the the background to create a mottled look.

The stencil and mask were removed. The Clown with Balloon image was colored with Copic markers. A white pencil was used to add highlights to the balloon. The white spiderweb was too stark and the Clown with Balloon did not stand out sufficiently, so I used yellow Copic markers to color them. Much better.

I also wasn't thrilled with athe way the drippy arch looked so I used a black marker to outline the drippy bits. That also improved the image.

The image panel was trimmed to 5 5/8" square, the top corners were rounded with a corner-rounder punch, and black VersaFine Clair Ink was used to edge the image panel. Off white cardstock, that matched the Clown with Balloon's face, was cut to 5 3/4" square and used to mat the image panel.

A spiders die was used to cut the off-white cardstock, the spiders were detailed with Copic markers, then adhered to the spider web with dimensional foam adhesive under their bellies and glue on the end of their legs.

The image panel was adhered to a 6" square black card, a sticker was added under the Clown with Balloon's feet, and "Happy Halloween" was debossed on the top of the card as shown.

Challenge 200 - Cats and Dogs!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Greetings! You've got Kathi here today to share a card created for the August Cats and Dogs Challenge 200 with the Poky Cat and Fat Cat Rubber Stamps by Lost Coast Designs.

The Poky Cat and Fat Cat Rubber Stamps were stamped twice with Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto white cardstock and onto repositionable sticker paper.

The sticker paper versions were fussy-cut and adhered onto their counterparts on the image panel to mask them.  A piece of repositionable scotch tape was placed horizontally across the image panel, covering their paws and the bottom of the panel.

Blue dye ink was brushed over the masked images. The image panel was then cut with a die. 

The masks and the tape were lifted and the images were colored with Copic markers. The area around and below Poky Cat and Fat Cat's paws was also colored with Copic markers.

The same blue dye ink was used to edge the top part of the image panel and a Copic marker was used to edge the bottom part of the image panel.

Orange patterned paper was die-cut with both a decorative rectangle die and sentiment label die. The rectangle die was used to mat the image panel. A sticker sentiment was adhered to the sentiment label die.

Patterned papers were layered as shown and trimmed to 5.75" square to create the background panel.  The matted image panel and the sentiment were adhered the background panel, then to an orange 6" card. Black rhinestones were added to finish the card.
